In 2008 I created maya*made, a blog to chronicle my adventures as a mother, artist, maker, and reinventor.

My designs reflected a desire to use sustainable resources woven in with inspiration from the natural world.

It took on a life of its own, and launched me as an online retailer and professional writer. It also fostered a supportive community of fellow creatives, both online and in person. I'm so honored and grateful to have shared this experience with so many amazing people all over the world. For both old friends and new ones, this page is a home to all things maya*made... from my books and Creative Bug online classes to seasonal craft tutorials. Enjoy!

Reinvention: Sewing with Rescued Materials

“Textiles that have weathered the test of time remain the nostalgic remnants and reminders of a much simpler era. Incorporating these materials into our sewing connects us to our collective past; a woven bridge between yesterday and today.”

On meditation... " Practicing this stillness and cultivating an awareness of what is real in the here and now is just like exercising a muscle. A regular workout keeps this meditation muscle strong so that we are prepared and able to stay present when a crisis derails us, instead of remaining trapped in yesterday or grasping for the unknown of tomorrow."

Girl's Home Spa Lab: All-Natural Recipes, Healthy Habits and Feel-Good Activities to Make you Glow

" Just as there are different seasons to the year, there are different rhythms to each day. Discovering how to flow through the day with balanced energy and then fall asleep with ease can transform how you feel about yourself and your life."
